She previously blew away the judges during her audition, prompting Amanda Holden to press the Golden Buzzer to send Sydnie to the live shows.

However, it turns out that Sydnie has a link to a familiar face from fellow ITV hit Love Island.

Joe Garratt starred on the dating show in 2019, in what was the final series presented by Caroline Flack.

He lasted a total of 16 days in the contest before being ‘dumped’.

Joe revealed a connection to Sydnie by writing on Instagram: “Go vote for my mate and close friend @sydniechristmas. Smashed it g.”

Taking to his Instagram story, Joe also encouraged his 670,000 followers to vote for the vocalist during last night’s semi-final.

In her original audition, Sydnie sang the classic song ‘Tomorrow’ from the musical Annie.

Despite being warned beforehand of Simon Cowell’s distaste for the song, her impressive vocals won over the judges and audience.

In her semi-final heat, she performed ‘My Way’, most famously sung by Frank Sinatra.

Afterwards, Amanda told her: “Honestly, Sydnie, when we saw your audition, I had so many people come up to me.

It’s so obvious’ claim BGT fans as they ‘reveal’ this years winner four days before the final
“People have stopped me probably more than any Golden Buzzer in 18 years of this show.

“Tonight, you did even better. I just cannot believe your capacity, your fire and your strength.

“You did yourself proud, you did your nans proud. Let’s have it!”

Viewers were also impressed, as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter.

One wrote: “If Syd doesn’t win there’s something seriously wrong. Stellar performance, I was in bits at the end. Nans must be bursting with pride x.”

Another added: “This years winner hands down! She did it her way.”

Alongside Sydnie, confirmed finalists so far include Innocent Masuku, Haribow, Jack Rhodes, Ssaulabi Performance Troupe and Mike Woodhams.

Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV1 and is available to watch on ITVX.
