Sarah Ferguson refused to be drawn on the row between Prince Andrew and King Charles over the ‘crumbling’ Royal Lodge.

Prince Andrew is believed to have a long lease on the Royal Lodge, but is ” locked in a row with his brother King Charles” over his future there and the upkeep of the lodge. As King Charles is in charge of the finances for the royal households, it could be the case that he restricts the funds – and it would then mean Prince Andrew would struggle with the upkeep costs of the property.

King Charles also currently pays for Prince Andrew’s security bill, which amasses a whopping £3 million every single year, and a ” feud ” between them is seemingly boiling over as King Charles is said to be urging his brother to take up a new property rather than the Grade II-listed property, which has a huge 30 rooms in total and costs a lot to maintain.

Sarah herself lives in the Lodge with Prince Andrew, but speaking on Good Morning Britain today, Sarah refused to be drawn on the feud. Speaking on the show, she said: “I tend not to get involved in brothers’ discussions and I think that’s the safest place to be.”

As the chat kicked off, host Martin Lewis directly asked her about the Lodge. Bit of a dampener,” Martin first warned his guest, “obviously, you live with Prince Andrew in Royal Lodge”, before summarising the ongoing conflict between the Duke and his brother King Charles and asking: “Do we know what’s going on with that?” Sarah then replied: “It’s not a Debbie Downer. It’s life in the fast lane.

“I’m a guest, for a start. I’m a very lucky guest and a very comfortable guest. Thank you very much.” She later added that she “let the brothers discuss it between themselves” and did not want to get involved.

King Charles is reportedly keen for Prince Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage, which was previously the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before their move to the United States. Not only would the move reduce the costings of security – as it is within Windsor Castle’s security cordon – but the house is also in a better state, given that it had a huge renovation a few years’ back.

A royal source had previously told The Times : “The King’s kindness is not without limit and there is a very good option for Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage, recently vacated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which also has the benefit of being within the Windsor Castle security cordon hence reducing the need for alternative round-the-clock security for Royal Lodge.”

The source also added that Andrew is “taking longer than desirable” to “recognise the reality of the situation,” with one of Prince Andrew’s friends saying that he is likely to “dig in” if things were to continue and that, in light of both Sarah Ferguson and the King’s own recent illnesses, he has already stayed in the Lodge longer than had been hoped.
