Billie Faiers shares her worries for her stepdad Dave Chatwood on Thursday’s Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries.
The former TOWIE star, 34, is back for a new series of her hit ITVBe reality show with husband Greg and their three children Nelly, Arthur and Margot. In an exclusive clip obtained by the Mirror of episode three, Billie has a heart-to-heart with her mum Suzie Wells, where they discuss Billie’s stepdad Dave, also known as Chatty, after a sad health update.
Earlier this series, Billie revealed that Chatty had told them he had about 15 months left if he carried on doing what he was doing after talking to the doctor. It comes as Billie had an honest chat with stepdad Chatty about his health last year on the show, where it was explained that his blood tests had been followed up by his GP.
Billie explained at the time: “Dad’s found out that his liver results are abnormal and after telling the doctors that he drinks a lot more than what he should do, daily, the doctor is concerned because they do think his health could be at risk.”

On Thursday’s episode of Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries, Billie and her mum Suzie share their worries for Chatty as they discuss his health. Billie asks: “So how was dad the other day at yours?”, pointing out he was wearing sunglasses to which Suzie admits: “Well, not too good unfortunately. I knew then [him wearing sunglasses] he was because he always puts them on.
“He could hardly talk, string a sentence together. To be fair, I thought there’s no point having a chat with him about it while he’s in that [state]. But I said the girls, you know, everyone’s so worried about you. He started getting choked up and he couldn’t talk, he couldn’t get his shoes back on.”

Billie then points out: “The thing is as well, it wasn’t even like it was 7 or 8 o’clock at night, it was like 9 o’clock in the morning!” Speaking in a VT, Billie adds: “I obviously see the state that dad was in that morning but for mum to say it as well, it is getting worrying again.”
Speaking to her mum, Billie admits: “It’s sort of like banging your head against a brick wall a little bit with dad at the minute because I don’t think anything’s really going to change at the moment” with Suzie adding: “I mean, I know he’s never going to stop straight away but if he doesn’t calm down. You know, he’ll be lucky to have another year.”
This prompts Billie to make a sad observation as she says: “I think now Nelly and Arthur are getting a bit older. It’s almost getting harder, it’s getting harder to disguise it or hide it from them.” Speaking in a VT, she adds: “I just want to obviously protect them but also protect dad in a way.

“I don’t want them growing up to remember their grandad being like that. I want them to remember all the happy and fun times with him.” Billie then says to her mum: “You know, he has got an addiction. It’s an illness, isn’t it?” to which Suzie adds: “It is.”
Billie continues: “Unless he really wants to try and help himself get better, which at the moment, I don’t feel like he does. Then what can we do? We just have to carry on as we always have.”
Coming up with a plan, Suzie says: “Look, we can have another chat with him. Say to him about cancelling again, say to him about rehab. We can’t give up. At the end of the day, we all know only he can help himself, it’s when he wants to do it but he just needs lots of support. It was quite upsetting that state he was in.”
Billie then vows: “All we can do is try, isn’t it? We’re not going to give up!” adding in a VT: “We just want to remind dad although we’ve done it many times before that we can get him professional help if he would like it.”
