GOOD Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin has revealed some exciting plans for a new TV project.

The longtime ITV meteorologist has explained that she wants to make new programmes away from the flagship breakfast programme.

Laura, 42, has been one of the original faces of Good Morning Britain after the show replaced Daybreak in 2014.

She has been a mainstay on the show ever since, but recently the TV presenter revealed her plans to make shows away from her usual slot.

Speaking to The Express, Laura admitted: “I’d love to do more shows talking about climate change.

“I’ve done some stuff with the Tonight Team looking at the multi-benefits if you want to change your diet – one thing people can do to reduce the impact of climate change is reducing food waste.

“We buy food, and then we throw it away – and then that causes emissions – and that causes temperature to rise.

“So if we planned our meals, and if we freeze everything that we didn’t use, and throw our scraps into the compost – that will save the planet, save us money – it’s a win-win!”

However, although she’s inspired by her other work with the Tonight team, she has no plans to depart GMB any time soon.

“I love it! I mean, I get to tell people the weather every day, and then I have like a little segment every day where I can talk about something else,” she exclaimed.

“Whether it’s like a climate report, whether it’s the Northern Lights, whether it’s extreme rainfall around the world – for me, weather forecasting is my first love – it’s my bread and butter, it’s what I do.

She explained: If I can, like, jot in all of these extra bits, you know, sprinkles of science while people are having their breakfast that make it interesting – it’s a dream scenario.

Recently, she lost her longtime co-star Ben Shephard, 49, who made the switch to another ITV Daytime show, This Morning.

He was announced as a full-time replacement for Phillip Schofield alongside former fellow former noughties children’s TV presenter Cat Deeley who replaced Holly Willoughby.

But for Laura, she says she does not miss Ben because the two shows share a studio at Television Centre in West London, meaning the team get to still see him all the time.

“We’re always seeing Ben walking down the corridor – so it’s like he’s not even gone – we see him all the time!”, she commented.

Although Lara gushed about all of her fellow co-stars, she lavished particular praise on former This Morning star Richard Madeley, because of his special interest in Space.

“I literally have the best job in the world. Charlotte [Hawkins] and Adil [Ray] just came over. And yeah, we just have a laugh every single day.”

“I mean, I feel we have like a big cast of presenters and everyone just brings something different when they present,” she explained.

“For me, I love having Richard Madeley, because he’s a big space geek.

“There was a big comet going through the sky, and he was like, ‘Laura, Laura, Laura!’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ve got my fellow science geek!’”

She added: “But, obviously, Martin Lewis – he loves a graph – he’s the only person who brings a graph to the show, other than me. Everyone brings something different.”
