Jason and Kylie Kelce

Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie, has made it clear she will support her husband whatever he decides when it comes to his potential retirement.

The Philadelphia Eagles legend is pondering calling time on his NFL career and was visibly emotional after their playoff exit. Though the family has been relatively mum in public about what Jason’s future holds, Kylie explained that Jason will excel at whatever he might decide to do, whether it is football or something entirely different.

“I think that whatever he does he’s going to be successful in,” Kylie told Good Morning America. “And I’m not just saying that because I’m his wife. I think that’s his personality.”

Considering how successful Jason was on the field, it makes sense why Kylie would believe that her husband has what it takes to excel in whatever he puts his mind to. Since being drafted by the Eagles in 2011, Jason is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and has made the First-team All-Pro six times.

The 36-year-old also was an instrumental facet in Philadelphia’s win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. Jason also helped the Eagles reach Super Bowl LVII, falling to his younger brother Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-35.

Feeling as if he and the Eagles had unfinished business, the elder Kelce signed a one-year deal to stay with Philadelphia after mulling retirement. Despite returning for a potential Super Bowl run, Philadelphia was eliminated in the NFC Wild Card game by Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He has made the most of his time off since the season ended, supporting brother Travis and the Chiefs at their last two playoffs games. As he watched them reach the Super Bowl, he provided an update on his plans for the future.

“I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it, regardless of what the decision is,” Jason told the Philadelphia Enquirer.

After a disappointing end to his season, Jason has kept any talk of retirement talk close to his chest, despite what some pundits have reported. On an episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Jason addressed the retirement talk and explained why he is keeping his decision to himself.

“I didn’t announce what I was doing on purpose despite what’s been leaked to the media, but people can feel body language and stuff,” an emotional Jason told Travis. “I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really make that decision. There is too much emotion in the moment and too much to grasp to really make that decision.

“I am not trying to be dramatic and continue to draw this thing out. I’m really not. It’s just something that when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it will be done in a way that’s definite and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and led to the career that I have had.”

Travis added that despite what has been reported, Jason did not officially call it quits and believes his older brother still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

With Jason still processing how the Eagles’ season came to a disastrous end while also supporting Travis as he embarks on the journey for his third championship, the 36-year-old is keeping all decisions close to his chest. And yet, whatever Jason does decide to do, Kyle believes he will be successful in it, just like how his football career has gone.
