At halftime and with Smith and Perkins working together on ESPN’s NBA Halftime show, the former gave his thoughts on the game with Boston up 83-38.

“This is an epic butt-whooping,” he said.

“This is so bad, Kendrick Perkins needs to take off that suit.”

A former Celtics star, Perkins was left bewildered by the comment.

Fans too were seemingly confused by Smith’s remark.

“Perk catching strays,” tweeted one fan.

“LMAO Perk’s face,” a second said.

“Stephen A is unhinged,” wrote a third.

But Smith wasn’t done there, admitting, “I ain’t ever seen anything like this.”

Later, he added, “None of us saw this coming. We want to apologize to the American people for what we just saw in this first half.

“We ain’t seen that. That could have happened to me. It might as well be me out there limping playing against Boston.”

Following the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opened his press conference by joking, “Well, a break here or there and that game was ours. But, stuff happens.”

As for the result, he said this was one they would flush “Down the toilet.”

“We had a great road trip, 3-1. We’ve had a million games.

“Boston was amazing. We weren’t beating them today.

“So we head home and get ready for Wednesday.”

The 38-28 Warriors will host the 40-21 Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.

The 48-12 Celtics return to action on Tuesday against the 39-21 Cleveland Cavaliers.
