Marvel fans are hyped for Anthony Mackie’s return as Sam Wilson, in Captain America: Brave New World, where he is set to take on Chris Evans’ mantle as Cap. Meanwhile, Kevin Feige and Mackie traveled to the San Diego ComicCon to offer a first-hand glimpse to the audiences of the eagerly anticipated MCU film.

While those in attendance at the ComicCon, got a first look at footage, Kevin Feige turned heads when he compared Captain America: Brave New World to MCU’s The Winter Soldier. Before Anthony Mackie got on the stage to introduce the highly anticipated clip, Feige raised people’s expectations as he compared the movie to one of the best MCU movies of all time.

ComicCon Presented an Exclusive Glimpse at Brave New World 

Following in the storyline of the Disney+ show The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie’s upcoming Captain America: Brave New World is set to turn him into the worthy successor of Chris Evans’ Cap. Although a few people are divided over Mackie’s worthiness as Captain America, fans are overall excited to see what the film brings.

Further, raising people’s expectations over the movie, Marvel head Kevin Feige played an exclusive footage starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford at San Diego ComicCon via THR. Hyped to see Mackie return as Sam Wilson, those in attendance at ComicCon got a first look at the eagerly anticipated trailer of Captain America: Brave New World.

The exclusive clip showed Sam Wilson being summoned by President Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford) to the White House, where he was assigned the task of helping rebuild the Avengers. The footage then shifts focus to Ross thanking Captain America and Phoenix for helping during the crisis, when loud music breaks out, to Ross’ confusion. Surprisingly, the music triggers something in former super soldier Isiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), who then attempts to kill Ross.

Kevin Feige Compared Brave New World to The Winter Soldier

This exclusive Captain America: Brave New World footage quite certainly hyped fans over the upcoming film which unfortunately won’t head to theaters until February 2025. Therefore, while the trailer raised people’s expectations, Kevin Feige realized beforehand that it wouldn’t be enough to maintain the exact level of excitement until next February. Thus, the Marvel head heightened expectations by comparing the film to one of the best MCU movies of all time.

Attending the ComicCon with Anthony Mackie, Kevin Feige suddenly drew an exciting comparison between Captain America: Brave New World and MCU’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, ahead of sharing the trailer. Calling back to the 2014 movie, which fans still talk about, because of being a “relatively grounded action thriller”, Feige claimed that the upcoming movie will follow that very tradition.

Thereafter, Anthony Mackie walked up the stage to introduce the ComicCon exclusive footage to the fans. The upcoming Captain America: Brave New World will follow the new adventures of Sam Wilson as Captain America, following the events of the Disney+ show The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The movie is set to star Danny Ramirez, Liv Tyler, and Carl Lumbly.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to open in theaters on February 14, 2025.
