The San Francisco 49ers (12-5) and Kansas City Chiefs (11-6) will match up in Super Bowl LVII.

Nearly 68 million American adults, which comes out to about 1 in 4, plan to bet on this year’s Super Bowl, setting a record by a wide margin, according to the gambling industry’s National Trade Association.

Bettors plan to wager an estimated $23.1 billion on this year’s Super Bowl, up from $16 billion last year.

Billy Walters, widely regarded as the most successful sports bettor of all time, gave his Super Bowl pick while speaking to the Review-Journal on radio row Thursday at Mandalay Bay.

After giving his best, he also claimed that the point spread is off tremendously and that the sportsbooks have the wrong team favored.

“I’m going to bet on Kansas City,” said Walters, 77. “It’s not going to be the biggest bet I ever made. It’s going to be a small bet. A small bet for me is between $500,000 and a million bucks on the Super Bowl.

“They made the line on the game (49ers by) 2. It’s up to 2½ at some places. I think Kansas City should be a 2-point favorite. I’ve got the other side favored.”

Sunday’s game will feature the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers in a rare rematch from four years ago.

As stated above, the 49ers are favored by 2.5 points, meaning they would have to win the game by 3 or more points for bets on them to be winners.

The romance between Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift might be helping drive interest in this Super Bowl and many may be picking the Chiefs to win just based on that.
