Phoenix Suns coach Frank Vogel claimed Kevin Durant was “fouled” in the controversial play

BASKETBALL fans have been left stunned after the San Antonio Spurs produced a miracle comeback against the Phoenix Suns.

A “blown call” on Suns star Kevin Durant in the final seconds of the dramatic game saw some raging fans claim the NBA is “rigged.”

Durant turned the ball over in the final seconds of the game at the Footprint Center, allowing the Spurs to seal a “miracle” 115-114 win.

Moments before the steal, Spurs center Victor Wembanyama had clawed his team to within 1 point of the Suns after they went on a 31-19 fourth-quarter run.

Durant was quickly surrounded by three desperate San Antonio players as he looked to draw the foul that would ice the game from the three-throw line.

Tre Jones and Keldon Johnson double-teamed the two-time NBA champion, with Johnson ripping the ball out of his hands as Jones applied pressure.

Johnson rushed into the paint to lay up for the winning basket with just 2 seconds remaining on the game clock.

Durant was left staring at the officials, his arms hanging limply by his sides as he waited for a call that didn’t come.

One fan raged on X, formerly known as Twitter: “@NBA you guys should get a hold of the refs and have a talk with them. They make it too obvious that the NBA is rigged.”

Another said: “KD got fouled at the end and no ref call. NBA is rigged still.”

While a third gasped: “Real miracle, one of the worst losses I’ve ever seen smh.”

But others saw nothing wrong with the call – and instead blamed Durant for sloppy play.

One NBA fan countered: “KD failed to box out on Wemby’s put back, then he got cleanly ripped, then KD missed the game-winning shot. The cope here is wild.”

And another argued: “Why didn’t he dribble once he got the ball? He stood around there swinging the ball as if he ran out of dribbles?”

Durant was fed the ball again on the final possession of the night but missed a contested jumper.

The win capped a remarkable comeback for the Spurs, who at one stage trailed by 20 points.

They led for just 2 seconds of the entire contest, with the win taking them 2-2 on the season.

Suns coach Frank Vogel – who didn’t call a timeout before Durant was pressured – was unimpressed with the officials and claimed the Phoenix star was “fouled”.

Vogel told reporters: “They fouled him. The refs didn’t call it.

“[He’s] whacked on the arm before the ball is ripped out of his hands. No call.

“In a situation like that, you get the ball into the hands of a 90 percent plus free-throw shooter, and we did.”
