A royal commentator has said that in order to thrive and be successful, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘must avoid offending Royal Family’, which comes amid their various projects

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “must avoid offending the Royal Family” if they want success, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been embroiled in a public rift with the Windsors since stepping down from their royal duties in 2020. Harry and Meghan famously announced more than four years ago: “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent.”

The couple then moved across the pond to the United States. They now reside in Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with them known for their various interviews and projects where they speak out about their time in the Firm.

The couple famously sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 for a bombshell interview, with them then releasing a six-part docuseries in 2022. Prince Harry then released his memoir Spare in 2023, with the couple also continuing to speak out in interviews, podcasts and through their various other projects.

And now the Sussexes have been warned that they need to “avoid offending the Royal Family” in order for them and their projects to both survive and thrive.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, royal expert and commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said: “If they are to thrive and not just survive they must avoid offending the Royal Family, their attacks have cost both them and the royals popularity and made them appear extremely destructive and also hypocritical over the issue of privacy.”

He then speculated: “Will we see future trips like Nigeria? Will Archie and Lili accompany them? The world’s press was fascinated, but that was because they are members of the royal family. However, they have been unpredictable and it will be fascinating to see where they take matters from here.”

This comes as Meghan prepares to hard launch her brand American Riviera Orchard, while the couple work behind-the-scenes on their upcoming Netflix shows. Harry is working on a show about polo, while Meghan is working on one about the joys of gardening and cookery.
