Prince Harry has touched down in the United Kingdom for several Invictus Games events, with the Duke of Sussex appearing to look ‘wary’ in new photographs

Prince Harry has appeared to look rather “wary” as he headed to his first Invictus Games event on his brief UK visit, which comes mere hours after it was announced he had touched down on British soil.

Earlier today, the Duke of Sussex arrived in his homeland of the United Kingdom without his wife Meghan Markle. ITV’s royal editor From Chris Ship confirmed at 1pm this afternoon: “Prince Harry is in the UK. He landed here ahead of his St Paul’s Cathedral service tomorrow to mark 10 years of the @WeAreInvictus which he founded in 2014. He’s doing some Invictus related events today.

“Prince Harry travelled to the UK alone – without Meghan or the children Archie and Lilibet. Meghan will not accompany Harry to the St Paul’s Cathedral in London tomorrow. But she will be with Harry for their visit to Nigeria later this week.”

And in new snaps of Harry arriving at the barracks on City Road, East London for an Invictus event, after he touched down in the capital city, it appears that the Duke might have felt a little “wary”.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, body language expert Judi James revealed that Harry exuded a “wary bravado” while arriving at the barracks in East London. She said: “There are ways of keeping a low profile and then there is Harry here, back in the UK and looking untroubled by the idea of attracting any attention.”

Judi added: “Instead of slipping into his jacket he seems to go down the matador route here, swirling it through the air while standing with his legs splayed and bent at the knees. This looks like a display that hints at either genuine confidence or a more wary bravado.”

This comes as it was reported today that Prince Harry will not meet with his father King Charles during his trip to the UK – but hopes to see him soon. A spokesperson for the Duke said: “It, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

Harry is scheduled to give a reading during the event on May 8. The service will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral, the same place his parents got married. Meghan has turned down her invitation to the event after she was warned by veterans that the Invictus Games ‘lost meaning’ with her involvement.
