Prince Harry’s extending an olive branch to meet Prince William and King Charles has been dismissed as a ‘PR stunt’ by a royal commentator.

Prince Harry’s “olive branch” to Prince William and King Charles is the “most self-serving” ever seen, a royal commentator has claimed. The Duke of Sussex is believed to have extended an invitation to meet his brother and father during his trip to the UK next week.

But royal expert Kinsey Schofield has said the Duke of Sussex has an ulterior motive in seeking a reunion with the King and his estranged brother.

US magazine Page Six first reported claims from a “well-placed London socialite” that Harry had invited William to a special ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games to be held at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.

Ms Schofield, speaking on her new YouTube podcast Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, said: “That’s the most self-serving olive branch I’ve ever heard in my life.”

She quipped: “That’s not an olive branch, guys, that’s a PR stunt… Unfortunately for Harry he’s – quote on quote – not getting much response. ‘New phone! Who’s this?’ Can you blame them?”

The expert suggested while the King and William won’t attend, royal fans could see Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie at the event.

She added: “I would pay good money for a Queen Camilla sighting – the same Camilla that Harry said was ‘dangerous’, ‘prepared to leave bodies on the street in sacrifice for her own PR’in Spare. Spare – the book where Harry sacrificed his entire family for PR and moola.”

Meanwhile, The Sun reports the Duke is “very keen” to meet with Charles. Their previous meeting was in February after the King’s cancer diagnosis was made public.

The publication says Harry and the King could meet on Wednesday night as separate events they have planned are due to finish by about 6pm.

It also reports any potential meeting is unlikely to include the Prince of Wales, with William scheduled to be away from the capital on Thursday and Friday.

Harry is expected to give a reading at a service of thanksgiving marking a decade since the inaugural Invictus Games London in 2014. It will be the first major event he has attended in Britain for some time.

The service is scheduled two days after Harry’s son Archie celebrates his fifth birthday. Actor Damian Lewis is set to recite the Invictus poem during the service.

Representatives from Invictus Games participating nations, including members of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veteran community, will also be in attendance.

After the ceremony, Harry and Meghan are scheduled to meet in Nigeria after being invited by the west African country’s chief of defence staff, who met Harry in Germany last September at Invictus Games Dusseldorf.

Harry and Meghan moved to the US in 2020 after stepping down from royal duties.
