Just when you thought the Philadelphia Eagles couldn’t fall any further now that the 2023 season is over, more fallout continues in the offseason.

The Eagles face a litany of offseason decisions, none bigger than what to do with their head coach Nick Sirianni.

Philadelphia was 10-1 with the best record in the NFL and then the wheels fell off. They collapsed down the stretch, losing six of their final seven games.

Now, two players on the team are anonymously calling out the head coach for his behavior.

Two Eagles veterans told Marcus Hayes of the Inquirer that Sirianni and his staff played favorites which allowed star players to go unscathed during that collapse while targeting lower-level ones.

Hayes reported that quarterback Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and “legacy stars” could do no wrong in coaches’ eyes, with mistakes “unmentioned or excused.” He further added that younger offensive lineman like Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson were treated differently than franchise stalwarts Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson.

The same behavior applied to the opposite side of the ball when it came to Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter and then Super Bowl winners Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham.

Hayes details one conversation with a veteran player about Antonio Brown:

When asked if Brown’s on-field conniptions and his two-week media blackout were affecting the team, an accomplished veteran player replied:
“I don’t know about that. But I will say it doesn’t help when they treat guys two different ways.”

With that, he nodded at Hurts’ empty locker.

What about Brown?

“Yeah. I guess some guys can’t do anything wrong.”
He further wrote: After Brown’s second postgame blow-off [during the 2023 regular season], another accomplished veteran also told me that Brown’s body language was setting an unacceptable example for younger players.

Brown, who joined the Eagles in a 2022 draft-night trade with the Tennessee Titans, finished his second season in Philadelphia with a career-best 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns.
