50 Cent has offered additional details about the new album he’s planning to release later this year, revealing that Dr. Dre will be contributing to the project.

During a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the rapper was asked about a recent Instagram post that saw him announcing “new music, new TV” and a “new Movie.” Fif said that as soon as he shared the news with fans, his Shady/Aftermath family reached out to let him know they were ready to work.
“As soon as I said that, I got a text from [Eminem] that he had already spoke to Dre, and that Dre is in there and he got some crazy stuff for me to go hear,” he said. “This is my process: I’ll go make something, what I can find, the best music that I can put my hands on. And when I feel real good about it, I bring it to put pressure on Dre to offer me something. ‘Cause he’ll have something… He’s always had something.”
The G-Unit boss went on to explain that there have even been instances in the past where Dr. Dre gave up beats he had created for himself for 50 Cent to use.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Queens rapper announced that he’s started working on an 8 Mile TV series to help further Eminem‘s already bulletproof “legacy.”
While he didn’t offer many details about when fans could expect the project or where in B-Rabbit’s life the story would pick-up, 50 said that the project was already more than some distant goal.
“We in motion,” he said. “It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100 … I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”
The news comes a few months after the 8 Mile soundtrack celebrated its 20th anniversary with an “Expanded Edition” re-release, which arrived as the original album was certified 6x platinum. The new edition features all 12 original songs, along with instrumentals for each of the tracks.
All of the original cast members might not be game for an 8 Mile revamp. Mekhi Phifer, who starred as Rabbit’s friend Future, (a homage to Em’s real-life childhood friend Proof) in the 2002 film, recently told TMZ Hip Hop that there will “never” be a sequel to the beloved rap film.
“Sometimes it’s just best to leave it alone. Once you make it a classic, no reason to fool around with it,” he said. He added that a sequel could be interesting, but he would never consider reprising his beloved role.
According to a report from Deadline, 50 is executive producing a new scripted drama series titled Fightland, which follows the story of a retired, world champion fighter that finds himself on the dark side of the sport after his childhood friend and training partner disappears.
In order to find his best friend, the disgraced fighter must return to the sport that almost ruined his life and cost him everything he had in order to escape. The show comes from the minds of writing duo Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, who both grew up in South London.
In addition, 50 Cent will be working alongside Francis Hopkinson and Katharine Leadbetter of Expanded Media to produce the show. Overseeing the show on behalf of STARZ will be Vice President, Original Programming, Sebastian Arboleda, and Director, Original Programming, Alex Alberts.
