The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have shared several shocking exposés on royal life since departing the royal fold in 2020, with an expert now warning they could soon share more

The Royal Family has been issued a very stark warning that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could share new exposés on royal life in the coming months, claims a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their senior roles within the Royal Family in 2020, shocking the world in the process when they revealed they would become financially independent of the monarchy. The couple then moved to America from their home in Windsor.

Since settling down in Montecito, California, the couple have worked on various projects, with them often speaking out and being vocal about their time within the royal fold. Often, the Sussexes have raised eyebrows with their controversial exposés – especially when chatting to Oprah Winfrey in 2021, releasing a docuseries in 2022, and Harry’s memoir hitting bookshelves in 2023

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told us that after the Oprah interview, Netflix docuseries, and Harry’s memoir Spare, “the popularity of the royal family suffered and the Sussexes were considered to have gone rogue”. He added: “The biggest casualty was trust. It is unsurprising that King Charles and Prince William no longer trust Harry and Meghan.”

Mr Fitzwilliams went on: “It also remains the case that, although it would be unthinkable for the Sussexes to resume their attacks whilst both King Charles and Catherine are seriously ill, there is always the possibility that they might in the future.

“What, for example, was in the 400 or so pages that Harry claimed he cut from Spare? Might he write a memoir of his early years? Might Meghan write her story?”

He then touched on the Sussexes’ contract with Netflix, which is due to expire next year. He noted: “It runs out next year and Netflix are no longer producing the series of The Crown, as they previously were. They might therefore have less interest in the Sussexes.

“If they lost this contract, with Archewell, their business and charitable foundation, having so few donors, they might well be in financial trouble. Since their exposés of royal life has made megabucks, but little else has made money, the Royal Family better hope that this unpredictable and ruthlessly ambitious couple stays with Netflix.”
